Elden Ring: Best Farming Spots and How to Maximize Your Runes
Today, I’ll show you the best spots to farm in Elden Ring, how many runes per hour you can get there, and how to avoid common mistakes to make your character insanely powerful fast. We’re playing the most recent version of Elden Ring online. However, you can play in any class. Let’s dive straight into Limgrave!
Early Game Farming Spots
Since I’ve already covered a lot of early game routes to get your character strong quickly, I’ll focus on farming today. For instance, you might see someone claiming they got 200k Elden Ring runes per hour from a spot, but they fail to account for travel and reset times. For example, if you farm a particular enemy for 64 runes, it doesn’t mean you’ll get 200k per hour because you also need to account for travel time and resetting enemies at the Site of Grace.
Initial Setup
First, you need a horse, which you can get from the Site of Grace near the Church of Elleh. There’s also a crucial item in the first location, the Gatefront Ruins. At the end of the ruins, you’ll find a chest containing a flail, which is essential for our farming strategy. Additionally, another chest in the ruins contains a Whetstone Knife that lets you change weapon affinities and insert Ashes of War.
After gathering these items, teleport back to the Church of Elleh and meet the witch who provides some free items. Then, head to the Third Church of Marika to obtain the Flask of Wondrous Physick and a Sacred Tear to increase the power of your flasks. Behind the statue at this location, there’s a teleportation point that will take you to Dragonbarrow, an excellent farming area.
Dragonbarrow: The First Farming Spot
Once you arrive in Dragonbarrow, head down the road to a large bridge guarded by a dragon. Don’t worry about the dragon; just cross the bridge and turn left. Near a large peak, you’ll find a jumping spot leading to a Site of Grace called “Lenne’s Rise.” This area is often mistakenly reported as patched, but it still works. Here’s how to farm it:
- Setup: From Lenne’s Rise, go down the road, and a large ball will spawn behind you. If you avoid the ball correctly, it will roll off the cliff, granting you 2k runes.
- Method: The biggest mistake people make is going to the cliffside. Instead, go to the right, and the ball will drop, giving you the runes. Reset at the Site of Grace and repeat.
- Runes per Hour: Without over-optimizing your movement, you can earn around 300k runes per hour here. This spot is perfect for leveling up quickly in the early game.
Fort Faroth: Dragon Respawn Glitch
Another famous farming spot involves exploiting a dragon respawn glitch. Here’s how to do it:
- Location: Go to Fort Faroth, located in Caelid, near the big golden tree.
- Method: Attack the dragon’s tail with a blood loss weapon (such as the flail we obtained earlier). Ensure you have 18 dexterity to wield it effectively.
- Optimizing Damage: Equip the Radagon’s Scarseal talisman to boost your dexterity if needed. This talisman can be found in Fort Faroth.
- Runes per Hour: With the flail and the blood loss effect, you can farm around 1 million runes per hour. Additionally, using the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot item will increase the runes gained by 20%.
Advanced Farming Spot: Mohgwyn Palace
After progressing through the story and defeating the bosses at Stormveil Castle, you can access one of the best farming spots in the game, located in Mohgwyn Palace.
- Setup: Complete the White Mask Varre questline, which involves invading other players and then receiving an invitation to Mohgwyn Palace.
- Method: In Mohgwyn Palace, you’ll find a ledge where you can shoot at Albinaurics below. Each kill grants a significant number of runes.
- Runes per Hour: This method can yield over 2 million runes per hour when done efficiently.
Additional Tips
- Equipment: Ensure you have the Golden Scarab talisman to increase rune acquisition by 20%. This talisman is obtained by defeating the bosses in the Abandoned Cave in Caelid.
- Optimization: Use the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot to further boost rune gains. These items stack with the Golden Scarab for maximum efficiency.
- Efficient Resetting: Instead of teleporting to reset enemies, run to the nearest Site of Grace. Teleporting removes the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot buff.
Conclusion
Farming in Elden Ring can be incredibly rewarding if done correctly. By following these methods and optimizing your approach, you can earn millions of runes per hour, allowing you to level up quickly and tackle the game’s toughest challenges with ease. Remember to keep an eye on your build and equipment to maximize your farming efficiency. Happy farming, and may your journey in the Lands Between be filled with glory and triumph!
